COVID-19 Update 3.17.20

COVID-19 Update 3.17.20
Kingston Bay Dentistry
BY Kingston Bay Dentistry

The health and wellbeing of our patients is our highest priority.  With the rapid spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Massachusetts and beyond, we are taking continuous measures to ensure our office is a safe place for patients and staff.  Last week, we enacted several new precautions to increase social distancing within the office.  These measures, alongside our stringent infection control standards, will help to keep everyone healthy.  We continue to monitor and adhere to the recommendations of the CDC (Center for Disease Control) as well as the as the Massachusetts Department of Heath.

Our staff is trained to prevent the spread of infectious disease, including viruses.  We take every precaution possible to help prevent the spread of illness at all through times.  With the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we have added measures to ensure social distancing as well as frequent sanitization of all door knobs and hard surfaces in our waiting rooms and bathroom facilities.

In order to slow the spread of COVID-19 and ensure our hospital systems do not become overwhelmed, Hollis Dentistry has temporarily closed for non-emergency visits. The Massachusetts Dental Society has recommended that all dental offices in the Commonwealth close for 2-3 weeks for non-emergency care.  It is imperative that all Massachusetts citizens minimize their contact with others at this difficult time, and we are happy to do our part to  help flatten the curve.

For those of you needing emergency treatment, Hollis Dentistry utilizes numerous measures to ensure your safety.  These include pre-screening patients for COVID-19 symptoms, utilization of hospital-grade personal protective equipment, hand hygiene and gloves, antimicrobial mouthwash for patients before treatment begins, oral isolation to minimize aerosol spray, sterilization of all hand pieces and equipment, disinfection of hard surfaces in treatment rooms and beyond, and proper disposal of medical waste.

When our office reopens, we will continue stringent infection control and social distancing measures ensure the health and wellbeing of all patients and staff.  You may notice alterations in our check-in and and check-out procedures, the layout of our waiting room and increased sanitization of waiting room surfaces at your visit.  We ask for your understanding as we continue these measures to ensure the health and safety of all out visitors.

Please contact us with any questions or concerns, or to schedule an appointment if you are experiencing pain.  If you have a non-emergency appointment scheduled in the next two weeks, our staff will contact you by phone to reschedule.

We appreciate your understanding in these unprecedented times, and hope that everyone in our community stays safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Britton Hollis, DDS
